Flow of Support Activities

Step1

Request Application

The requesting member applies to the secretariat as soon as the details of the request, date, and time are determined.

Step2

Search for support members.

The advisor informs the supporting member of the details of the request and discusses it with him/her.
Once approval is obtained, the requesting member is introduced.

Step3

Refer a Supporting Member

Once a supporting member is found, the advisor will call the requesting member to refer the member.

Step4

Schedule a prior meeting.

The requesting member contacts the supporting member to arrange a date and time for a prior meeting (face-to-face meeting).

Step5

Hold a prior meeting

The meeting will be held at the location where the support is provided.

In the case of transportation support, we will also confirm the facility and route to be used.

Once the details of the request are confirmed and agreed upon by both parties, the assistance can finally begin!

Step6

On the day of support

Support activities will be conducted in accordance with the contents of the prior meeting, with the safety of the children as the first priority.

Step7

Support completed.

The requesting member pays gratuity, etc. to the supporting member and receives a Support Activity Report.

Commitments in Support Activities

◆Please discuss this with your family fully in advance before requesting support from the secretariat.

Your family's understanding and cooperation will lead to smooth support activities.

◆The principle is that children are "received from adults and handed over to adults."

We do not pick up or drop off children at the client member's home without an adult present.

◆The principle is "one-to-one childcare."

As a general rule, one support member is allowed per child. (Please consult us in case of siblings.)

◆We do not provide care for sick children or care that involves overnight stays.

◆As a rule, support activities will be conducted on foot or by public transportation.

Support activities using bicycles are not allowed. Use of a car is negotiable.

About gratuity

Support activities are not jobs, but paid volunteer work.

Weekdays 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. 800 yen per hour

900 yen per hour on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, weekdays before 7:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m.
※Up to the first hour, gratuity is 800 yen (or 900 yen) for less than one hour.

After an hour, the fee is added in 30-minute increments thereafter.

For siblings, the second child is half price.

If meals or snacks are requested or transportation costs are incurred, the actual costs will be paid separately.

In principle, gratuity should be paid directly to the supporting member after each support.

About the subsidy system

Kamakura City subsidizes a portion of gratuity paid to Family Support Center members who provide childcare and housekeeping support to families raising children during pregnancy or before entering kindergarten or nursery school. The maximum subsidy amount is 400 yen per hour, and the maximum usage time is 20 hours per month.

About Compensation Insurance

The Family Support Center collectively subscribes to the "Family Support Center Compensation Insurance" so that members can participate in activities with peace of mind. (The city pays the insurance premiums.)

Since insurance is applied at the time of the support activity, requesting members are requested to contact the secretariat prior to the activity (on LINE or by phone) for the date and time of the request.
In case of accidents, etc., please contact the Family Support Center as soon as possible.
